The drone robotics company Quantum Systems is on a successful path. Since the beginning of the Ukraine war, the company has been selling its modular drones in a military context – and with great success. Just a few months ago, the startup expand its Series B to a full 100 million eurosNow Quantum Systems is investing in another Munich-based startup. EFT Mobility is receiving a financial injection for its complete drive systems.
The accompanying press release mentions a "significant sum" flowing into EFT Mobility's account. The exact amount is not known. What is clear is that Quantum Systems' investment gives it a majority stake. Drive developer takes over.
EFT Mobility focuses on developing advanced electric drive systems for various industries, including aviation and UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles). The startup specializes in both electric and hybrid-electric systems and offers flexible solutions for sustainable transportation. The company will now develop and build the entire family of batteries and charging solutions for all Quantum Systems UAV platforms.
EFT Mobility reaches next level of product maturity
At the same time, Quantum Systems' investment lays the foundation for EFT Mobility's next stage of product maturity. With a confirmed production volume, the drive manufacturer can expand its qualifications and industrialization capabilities to meet these requirements. This will result in high-performance batteries, chargers, and power distribution systems that meet all required regulations and can be manufactured at scale. These products will then continue to be available to all current and future EFT Mobility customers.
For Quantum Systems, the collaboration with EFT Mobility strengthens the supply chain for its system family. A reliable, China-independent supply chain mitigates the risks associated with global sourcing. The approach of developing and manufacturing all components in-house not only ensures greater flexibility and interoperability, but also better control over the production and development processes.
The investment increases efficiency and demonstrates Quantum Systems' commitment to technological excellence in a growing industry. The aligned visions of both companies make the acquisition an important step toward achieving global market leadership in aerial reconnaissance.
