17th Idea Award seeks female innovators

The Idee Award, named after the Idee Kaffee (idea coffee), is being presented for the 17th time. The prize recognizes innovative start-ups and is endowed with a total of 65,000 euros.

Every two years, the Albert and Edda Darboven Foundation awards the Idea Prize. The award is intended to recognize innovative Business ideas from women actively promote them and at the same time present them publicly as role models for other female founders.

Female founders and entrepreneurs whose companies have been registered in the commercial register for no more than five years are eligible to participate. Teams can also apply, but the startup idea must originate from a woman. Prize money is awarded as follows: €50,000 for first place, €10,000 for second place, and €5,000 for third place.

The jury's assessments are based on the degree of innovation, viability, and sustainability of the business concepts from all economic sectors. The personal commitment of the innovators also plays a role in the evaluation.

Applications for the Idea Award are on-line until July 31, 2025. Five finalists will have the chance to present their company in person to the jury, with one place being awarded through public voting.
