Visiting a car wash will soon have another advantage for electric car owners: They can now also quickly charge their car while washing it. This is made possible by a collaboration between the Munich-based startup Jolt and IMO Car Wash, one of the world's largest car wash companies.

Jolt is working on establishing a network of charging stations in urban areas. the startup based in Munich and Dublin on rapid charging stations offering up to 300 kW of charging power. This allows electric vehicles to charge up to approximately 100 km of range in just five minutes. To expand its network, the company relies on partnerships with the public sector and businesses such as gas stations, supermarkets, and other strategic locations. What's special about Jolt's charging stations is that they don't require complex network expansion because they rely on energy storage.

There, they can not only wash and vacuum, but also offer ultra-fast charging in the future. Jolt will finance, build, and operate the charging infrastructure, while IMO will receive an additional source of income without any investment of its own.
