Munich Startup Festival 2024: The summer festival of the Munich startup scene

Can the Munich Startup Festival deliver on its promise with its highly successful launch last year: bringing the Munich startup scene together for a summer festival in a relaxed and informative atmosphere, making networking as easy and enjoyable as possible? Yesterday's day and evening proved: Yes, it can.

The main stage program continued on a high note. In the "Forever Young" panel, the participants unanimously praised Munich's biotech ecosystem: Investors, experienced managers, and skilled workers are plentiful, they said. The only drawback: While Germany is good at publishing scientific findings, it struggles with commercialization. Munich local politics was also present at the festivalCity council representatives, including Manuel Pretzl (CSU/FW parliamentary group leader), Fritz Roth (FDP), Sebastian Weisenburger (The Greens – Rosa Liste parliamentary group), and Felix Sproll (SPD/Volt parliamentary group), discussed the state capital's opportunities to support local startups. In the panel "From Startup to Grownup," founders shared their insights on the challenges and success factors along this path. They called for more courage from German investors.
