Since 2017, Ecog has been helping charging station manufacturers develop their solutions cost-effectively and scale them profitably. With its reference designs and charge controllers, the startup It enables large manufacturers to bring their products to market quickly and easily. According to the company, it has a market share of over 15 percent in Europe and is also active in India. Ecog's customers include Siemens and Icharging. The company secured a six million euro investment in 2022 to accelerate its expansion in the US. It also received a further $1.5 million grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to open its US headquarters in Detroit.
Josev is an operating system for charging stations from the British company SwitchThe acquisition by Ecog also involves a partnership with Switch, under which full operational responsibility for the Josev team and its products will be transferred to Ecog. Josev's customer portfolio, including ABB E-mobility, Alfen, and Zaptec, will also be managed by Ecog in the future. The Munich-based company is also integrating the cloud-based Switch platform, which makes it easier for operators to manage their EV charging networks.

With the new partnership, Ecog and Switch are also preparing for upcoming changes in the charging infrastructure market. Following Tesla's recent downsizing of its infrastructure business, a market gap has opened up for infrastructure companies to meet growing demand.
